ECS – What is it??
ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM (ECS) – This is a particular class of molecules helping the brain process and respond to what the body is sensing, and vice versa.
In the mid-1980s this chemical source of the mind-body connection was discovered. This finding has opened the eyes to the way people look at both physical and psychological issues and ailments.
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) features three distinct parts:
- Free-floating chemical molecules
- Receptor landing sites that sit atop the surfaces of cells
- Enzymes that make and break down the chemicals that activate these receptor sites
WORKINGS OF – The landing sites that sit on the surface of the cell are called Cannabinoid Receptors. These receptors act like locks that control communications between cells. If cannabinoid receptors can be thought of as locks, Endocannabinoids can be thought of as Keys.
HOWS OF – Endocannabinoids are molecules that are produced naturally by all vertebrates. Once an endocannabinoid engages with a cannabinoid receptor, it triggers chemical changes that ultimately transmit directions to the cell.
LOCATED IN NERVES – The ECS is highly concentrated in nerve cells and is often thought of as one of the largest neurotransmitter systems in the body. A neurotransmitter is a molecule that relays messages between nerve cells. The ECS nerve communication is fundamental for overall functioning, considering that the electrical impulses nerve cells provide allows us to think, move, feel, breathe, emote, and process our surroundings.
OTHER INFLUENCES – The ECS, endocannabinoids, may also have an influence on other cell receptors that allows the body to feel burning sensations and the influence of bone development.
As one can see the ECS, Endocannabinoid System, is a super-importante component to BODIES and how they CAN function optimally when supported and strengthened, along with why the body does/can fall apart so easily.
